Francesco Barchi received his M.A. in Oriental Languages and Culture from the Sapienza University of Rome in 2016, defending a thesis on the language and translation techniques in the Chinese version of the Vajracchedikā-prājñāpāramitā-sūtra by Dharmagupta. His dissertation focuses on the treatment of Sanskrit’s "patient-oriented" constructions in the Chinese translations of the Buddhist sūtras.
